"But when we observe, we are forced to pay attention. We have to move from passive absorption to active awareness. We have to engage." ~ Maria Konnikova

I first realized my love of education and interpretation at the L.A. Zoo, when I started out in high school as a volunteer in their Education Department. (This may or may not have been reinforced through cuddling with lemurs and bottle-feeding baby antelope). I continued at the Zoo in the summers while I pursued my degree in Zoology at U.C. Davis, where I also tutored other students in subjects such as biology and math.
Since then, I have served as a Naturalist, a middle school teacher, a high school biology and chemistry teacher and a technology educator. For the past six years I have been working with teachers across California to design and develop engaging and exciting standards-based curriculum. I love collaborating with other educators and embracing the fun in learning! Degrees and Certifications:
